Gaa turning a blind eye

Football Hooliganism ON THE PITCH is the only way to describe the incident at the Kildare V Laois on Sunday. A mass brawl involving 28 players resulting in 5 players being sent off was later described by one of the teams spokesmen as nothing worse than he has seen at an under 16 sunday match.
Exactly what is he try to say with that statement. I know if I had a child playing this game I would be worried that this is the mindset of other officials in the game.
But what about the garda who were on duty at the match. Is it not their job to be seen to uphold law and order. How many players were arrested or spoken to concerning this manner. The ref saw fit to send 5 players off for what he deemed violent conduct so it must have been serious enough for the attending Garda to intervene. If the same sort of melee happened in O Connell St would the Garda turn a blind eye to this.
One day someone is going to be seriously or fatally injured if this is allowed to continue.
